Man facing charges in Regina homicide investigation

REGINA - A death investigation that began Feb. 18 is now being considered a homicide.

Shortly after 8 p.m. on Feb. 18, police were called to the 1500 Block of 12th Avenue in Regina for a report of an injured male.

When they arrived, they discovered the victim, a 46-year-old male, deceased.

Officers secured the area and requested the additional resources of the Regina Police Service Major Crimes Unit, the Regina Police Service Forensic Identification Unit and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service.

As a result of the investigation, 39-year-old Dennis Hotomanie is charged with first-degree murder.

Hotomanie, who remains in custody, will make his next appearance on this charge in Regina Provincial Court on March 6 at 9:30 a.m., to be spoken to.
