REGINA — Regina-based author Keith Landry has earned his second International Book Impact Award for his gripping historical true-crime work, Allumette Island Massacre. The book was selected from more than 40 entries in this year’s Historical category.

Allumette Island Massacre recounts one of Canada’s most chilling rural tragedies — the brutal murder of several family members by Michael Bradley over a land dispute on Allumette Island in Quebec’s Pontiac region on July 20, 1933. Landry’s research and compelling storytelling guide readers through the intense murder investigation, two dramatic trials, and ultimately, Bradley’s hanging in Campbell’s Bay in 1935.

“I’m deeply honoured to receive this recognition. This tragic story reflects the complexity of rural life, justice and family conflict in early 20th-century Canada. I’m grateful that it has resonated with readers and judges alike,” said Landry.

Landry’s previous win came just four months ago. Allumette Island Massacre is now available in bookstores and online.
