Regina police lay a charge of first-degree murder in city's third homicide

REGINA - Thirty-three-year-old Keli Stonechild has been charged with first-degree murder following an investigation into a homicide that occurred on April 24.

At approximately 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 24, police and EMS were dispatched to a call for service in the 800 block of Victoria Avenue. Upon arrival, police located an injured adult male. He was declared deceased a short time later.

Officers secured the scene and requested the additional resources of the Regina Police Service Major Crimes Unit and the Regina Police Service Forensic Identification Unit. An investigation, in conjunction with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service, began. The investigation determined the death to be a homicide and, as a result:
