REGINA – With milder temperatures expected this weekend, residents looking for an outdoor activity can try crokicurl – a game that combines crokinole and curling – at several locations across the city.
The City of Regina is offering the activity for free at its outdoor rink locations:
- City Square, Victoria Park – Regina Downtown;
- Gocki Park Rink – Al Ritchie Community Association;
- McVeety Park – Hillsdale Community Association.
Crokicurl has gained popularity in recent years, blending elements of the classic tabletop game crokinole with the strategy of curling. Players take turns sliding large discs onto a target, aiming to score points while knocking opponents’ pieces out of position.
Regina residents can check the outdoor rink schedule and learn how to play by visiting Regina.ca/WinterFun.
With warmer weather expected, it’s the perfect opportunity to get outside and enjoy a uniquely Canadian winter sport.
