A little more movement up and down for some teams but the top remains the same as the Melfort Mustangs and Flin Flon Bombers continue to have success

The SportsCage SJHL Power Rankings are created by having contributors independently rank each team from No. 1 to No. 12, then averaging out the scores.

1. Melfort Mustangs (31-5-0)  -

The Mustangs once again took care of business this past week with two big victories including a comeback road win over the Yorkton Terriers on Friday night. They continue to dominate as they have a league-high plus 69 goal differential

Next Up: Friday vs. La Ronge / Saturday @ Nipawin

Top Scorer: Reilly Kotai - 46 points in 35 games

2. Flin Flon Bombers (25-9-2-1)  +1

Trying to keep pace with the league-leading Mustangs, the Bombers continue to have success with depth scoring from up and down their roster. Also a team without a regulation loss in 21 games as they begin a four game in five nights roadie down south

Up next: Tuesday @ Melville / Wednesday @ Estevan / Friday @ Weyburn   / Saturday @ Notre Dame

Top Scorer: Ryder Ringor - 41 points in 37 games

3. Weyburn Red Wings (23-11-2) -1

It was a pretty productive week for the Red Wings with the only blemish a road loss in Melville, sandwiched in between a pair of home-ice wins over La Ronge.  Max Chakrabarti continues to be one of the league’s best point producers from the back-end.

Up Next: Tuesday vs. Notre Dame / Friday vs. Flin Flon / Saturday @ Yorkton

Top Scorer:  Jerome Maharaj & Ethan DeKay with 44 points each

4. Yorkton Terriers (22-14-1)  -

A little stumble for the Terriers this week as they suffered two defeats in two games that they had multiple goal leads in.  Eleven more goals again against this week is something of concern.

Next Up: Friday vs. Nipawin/ Saturday vs. Weyburn

Top Scorer: Keenan Ingram - 46 points in 35 games

5. Battlefords North Stars (20-13-3-2) -

A split for the North Stars this weekend has Martin Smith’s bunch now five points up for the Nutrien Division.  Leading scorer Nikita Ivashchenko returns after his stint with Team Ukraine and that’ll provide a big boost.

Up next:  Thursday & Friday vs. Melville

Top Scorer: Nikita Ivashchenko - 36 points in 32 games

6.  Melville Millionaires (18-18-2-1) +1

A perfect home weekend for the Moneymen as earned two solid wins over two division rivals in front of the hometown crowd. A big part? The play of rookie netminder Nick Genette who stopped 68 of 70 shots in the two wins.

This Week:  Tuesday vs. Flin Flon / Thursday & Friday @ Battlefords

Top Scorer: Jadon Iyogun - 29 points in 35 games

7. Humboldt Broncos  (17-17-2-1) +1

After dropping three in a row last week, the Broncos earned five out of a possible six points this past week including two big wins on the road. A couple divisional games still to come and a quieter end to January.

Up Next: Tuesday @ Nipawin / Thursday vs. Notre Dame

Top Scorer: Jacob Strizzi - 43 points in 33 games

8.  Kindersley Klippers (19-18-1-1) - 2

A tough start to the stretch of five straight road games for the Klippers who dropped their first three scoring only four times. A chance to rebound possibly this weekend as they head south to battle the Bruins.

Up Next: Friday & Saturday @ Estevan

Top Scorer: Mason Bueckert and Zak Anderson - 35 points in 39 games

9. La Ronge Ice Wolves (16-20-1) +1

The Wolves are currently 2 and 3 on their grueling stretch of nine straight road games that included seeing them drop three of four in South East Saskatchewan allowing 19 goals in the process. Still just three points of a playoff spot, but don’t want to get too far behind.

Up Next: Friday @ Melfort

Top Scorer:  Cole Thomas - 31 points in 38 games

10. Notre Dame Hounds (11-20-2-2) +1

Three out of a possible four points including a four goal third period comeback on Saturday over Yorkton has the Hounds playing some of their best hockey of the season.  Plenty of positives in 2025 so far for the young squad who’ve won 3 of 5.

Up next: Tuesday @ Weyburn / Thursday @ Humboldt  / Saturday vs. Flin Flon

Top Scorer: Marko Djordjevic - 36 points in 35 games

11.  Estevan Bruins (12-18-3-1) -2

It’s been a struggling start for the Bruins to start their second half of their season dropping five of their first six to begin the New Year. Also the Bruins will be going through a coaching change after the club parted ways with Head coach & GM Jason Tatarnic.

Up Next:  Wednesday vs. Flin Flon / Friday & Saturday vs. Kindersley

Top Scorer: Kent Moors - 32 points in 30 games

12.  Nipawin Hawks  (7-24-3-2)   -

The Hawks were idle this past week, and a good week of practice and preparation took place for the squad looking for their first win of 2025. A three game week is on the horizon for a team looking for continued positive development

This Week:   Tuesday vs. Humboldt/ Friday @ Yorkton / Saturday vs. Melfort

Top Scorer:  Carter Anderson - 24 points in 36 games
