My Favourite Holiday Tradition
Do you have a real tree? My tree is from Walmart, so it is fake. I decorate my tree with ornaments. Me, my Mom and my sister decorate the tree. My tree has coloured lights. Decorating the Christmas tree is my favourite holiday tradition.

Do you like candy canes? I do! At Christmas, I like to eat lots of food. I like to eat it with egg nog. We have cookies, rhubarb muffins, egg nog and candy. I enjoy this tradition because it really makes me and others happy.

Have you been to the Parade of Lights? Every year I go to the Parade of Lights. It’s magical to be downtown at night with all the pretty lights. I am on a float. You may be wondering which float? I am on the Canadian Mental Health Society float. It had an igloo and a penguin and a polar bear. I wore a warm snowsuit and I waved to smiling people. Everybody smiled with joy. I love being a part of the Parade of Lights!

Do you eat turkey for Christmas? I don’t eat turkey Christmas dinner. Do you eat Christmas dinner with your family? I do eat Christmas dinner with my family. Do you drink water for Christmas dinner? I do drink water. Do you have a healthy Christmas dinner? Some food is healthy and some is not.

My holiday tradition is the twinkle tour. I look at the displays. Some are rainbow and some flash. The displays are bright and pretty. They look like stars. There are lights wrapped around that are all different colours. It is at River Park. It is my family tradition. Would you go to the twinkle tour?

Is decorating the tree. Do you like to decorate your tree as much as I do? I put ornaments on my tree with my family, like pottery ornaments and ornaments of my Mom and Dad’s wedding. I have a real tree because my Mom likes the smell. I put lights and a star on my tree. I got my tree at the Young Fellows tree lot because my Dad works there sometimes. I love to look at the ornaments because they’re shiny. Do you put up a tree?

RIP! There is a lot of presents under my tree. What I want for Christmas is clothes, gymnastics bar, fit bit and stuffies. Me and my sister both open presents at the same time. My Mom and Dad and Santa and my grandma and grandpa all give me presents. Me and my sister know because we have name tags on the presents. In my stocking there is gum, candy and little presents. When do you open? I open presents in the morning and at night with my cousins and auntie and uncle.

Have you ever been on a float? It looked like a candy cane. My friends that I skate with came and my coaches. There were lots of lights and floats. It went downtown Weyburn. I really enjoyed it because we got candy! I have been. I was on a float in the Weyburn Parade of Lights. All of the decorations were red and white. We wore warm winter clothes and waved at all the people. I was surprised to see so many happy faces. The parade took about an hour. At home, we warmed with hot tea. My toes were frozen! Even though it was cold, I hope I get to do it next year!

Do you like to watch Christmas movies as a family? What treats do you like to eat? I like to eat ketchup chips and dill pickle popcorn. I like to drink hot chocolate. Do you like to drink hot chocolate? Do you have your pajamas on? I always have my pajamas on. What movies do you like to watch? I like to watch Elf and Christmas Chronicles. My family every year watches about five Christmas movies. I always stay up past bedtime but only on weekends. My favorite treats are hot chocolate and chips.

Christmas movies. Do you watch Christmas movies? I love watching Christmas movies. I get to stay up past my bedtime and wear my pajamas. We watch in the basement. Our Dad makes us watch Christmas Vacation even though we don’t want to. During the movie I have chips, candy and cream soda. We watch Elf and Home Alone. We watch on the couch. It’s time for family time!

Is the advent calendar. RIP! Wow, what a great gift. Now before we get to that, let me tell you about the advent calendar. You normally open it in the morning. You get to open a gift in the morning until Christmas. You can find it in a bag that someone in your family gives to you. It looks big, small or medium size. It’s fun because you get super fun stuff.

Do you decorate a tree? I do. I like putting ornaments on the tree with my family. Do you play music while you decorate? I don’t because it makes ornaments fall sometimes. Is your tree real or fake? Mine is fake because I don’t live close to Christmas trees. My tree has ornaments and lights. Do yours? You can find it at a tree store. I like the ornaments because some have photos of my family. I sometimes put an angel on the top of the tree.

Family time! Do you have family time? I do. It is so fun and everyone is there. You get to stay up late and watch movies in pajamas and eat buttery popcorn and salt and vinegar chips. You get to visit grandma and even cousins, aunts and uncles. It is so fun too. Open presents and drink hot chocolate. After I drink, I go crazy! We watch Disney. Do you watch it? I do. If you do not, you should get it. I like to watch Home Alone.

Have you ever been to the Parade of Lights? I have! You have to dress warm because it’s cold and snowy It’s about a half an hour. There are a lot of floats. There are a lot of sirens and lights. There are police, fire trucks and ambulance. There are Grinch floats and Santa is on one! It is normally the second or third day of December. You can get hot chocolate and people give out candy canes and peppermints. You find it in downtown Weyburn, Saskatchewan. It starts at 7:00 p.m. It’s my favourite Christmas tradition.

At the Parade of Lights, you see a lot of vehicles and floats. There are always a bunch of lights on all of the floats there. Every year someone dresses as Santa and someone dresses as the Grinch. Every year I go to the Parade of Lights. This year I only got two candy canes at the Parade of Lights. My brother was on a float.

RIP! RIP! RIP! RIP! RIP! Santa is giving presents to all of us. You can have family time with your family. You can care for your family. You can wear pajamas if you want to. I have lots of presents at my house. I have stockings on Christmas. There is candy in my stocking. I love Santa – he is nice. Some people celebrate Christmas. Many people have trees and many people do not have trees. Some people have no ornaments and some people have them. You can have memories from them. They can be special for some people. There are lots of colours like red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple and pink. The special two colours are red and green. Most people have said opening presents is a special time of year. Most people do not have Christmas time. There are lots of traditions like Halloween and Thanksgiving and Easter.

My favourite is opening presents in my pajamas. I open with my family. All of my presents are under my tree. I get toys and clothes and crafts. I did get my presents from Santa too. I love presents!

I open presents on Christmas Day. In our pjs, Mya and me open presents carefully. The present are made with some patterns. The presents are under the tree with ornaments. I find presents in the house. 19 days until Christmas day. Happy New Year!

Decorating the tree on Christmas eve is fun! My family decorates the Christmas tree. I always get to put the star at the top. The tree was real. Ornaments go on the tree along with colorful lights and tinsel. It goes in our living room. I enjoy it because it makes me feel good.
