Case adjourned for accused in death of Alfred Nyarko Okyere

SASKATOON - A man who is facing a murder charge in the death of Alfred Nyarko Okyere had his case adjourned in court in a recent appearance.

Troy Leclair, 53, of Saskatoon, was to make a court appearance for a first-degree murder charge in the death of 23-year-old Alfred Nyarko Okyere, who had recently moved to Canada. Leclair, who remains in custody, was scheduled to appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court on Feb 28.

He is next due back in court on March 24 at 9:30 a.m. to be spoken to.

Police said in a news release, they responded to a report of an injured person at a business on Millar Avenue on Jan. 20, 2025.

"Upon arrival, police located a 23-year-old male victim suffering from stab wounds," the release said. "He was transported to hospital where he was pronounced deceased."

Police didn't report the names of the accused or the victim in the news release.
