SASKATOON — The annual Saskatoon Festival of Trees announced April 14 that it has donated $103,939.39 to the Saskatoon City Hospital Foundation. The funds will go toward the purchase of a new CT scanner.
Festival organizers say 22,147 people visited the 2024 event, held at the Western Development Museum. More than 250 volunteers staffed the nine-day showcase of Christmas trees, wreaths and gingerbread houses, with the entire venue infused with holiday spirit.
“Funds are raised through general admission, tree sales, wreath sales, centerpiece sales, gingerbread cookie sales, and special event ticketed activities held throughout the nine-day event,” acknowledged festival organizers.
The yearly community Christmas kickoff is made possible by the year-round efforts of a volunteer board of directors, the planning committee, designers, and the many volunteers who serve in various roles throughout the event’s duration.
Sponsorships also contribute to the event’s success in supporting the Saskatoon City Hospital Foundation.
The Festival of Trees committee is excited to begin planning for its 40th anniversary in 2025, with event dates set for Nov. 21 to 29.
