Teen facing charges following stabbing in Saskatoon

SASKATOON - A female youth was arrested following a reported stabbing yesterday morning.

Shortly after 7 a.m. on April 24, police were called to the area of 20th Street West and Avenue D South for a report of an injured person.

Upon arrival, officers located the male victim suffering from multiple stab wounds; he was transported to hospital by paramedics for treatment of what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Further investigation determined that the stabbing had occurred in an apartment building in the 200 block of Avenue D South.

Later, at around 7:40 a.m., police were called to the 300 block of 22nd Street West for another report of an injured person.

Arriving officers located a female youth with an injury to her hand. Through continued investigation, officers determined that she was also the suspect in the earlier stabbing.

As a result, the 17-year-old female youth was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.
