Update: power restored in south Estevan

UPDATE:

SaskPower says power has been restored to affected customers in the southern parts of the city of Estevan and the RM of Estevan. 

"If your power hasn’t been restored, please call us at 310-2220, or report it online at http://saskpower.com/reportoutage," the Crown corporation said in an update on its X account at 9:22 a.m.

ESTEVAN - SaskPower crews responded to a power outage in southern parts of the city and RM of Estevan Thursday morning. 

The Crown corporation reported on its X page that crews had been sent out and were determining the cause and repair time for the outage reported south of Fourth Street in Estevan.

The affected area includes rurals south of Estevan to the Canada-U.S border.

In an email to the Mercury and SaskToday, SaskPower spokesman Joel Cherry said the cause of the outage was a truck contacting power lines near Highways 18 and 39 at around 7:45 a.m. Approximately 920 customers were affected.
