Volunteers help paint tipi at St. Victor petroglyphs site

Volunteers recently gathered to paint the tipi with the help of artist Kim Soo Goodtrack who supplied the design.

ASSINIBOIA - St. Victor Petroglyphs Interpretive Centre held a day of tipi painting at the park on July 3.

The tipi was established last summer, and volunteers recently gathered to paint the tipi with the help of artist Kim Soo Goodtrack who supplied the design.

Each design has a specific meaning and the tipi will become an important addition to the park.

The Friends of the St. Victor Petroglyphs are very pleased to have this tipi as part of their interpretative centre situated in the community of St. Victor Saskatchewan. Funding for the project was provided by South Saskatchewan Community Foundation and Sask Culture and Sport. Everyone is welcome to come and experience the thrill of standing inside this tipi.

The painting crew included: Amy Hansen and Anjka Hansen, Kim Soo Goodtrack, Marie Lerminiaux, Tara and Arran Duperreault, Brian and Marty Kuysten, David and Carol Munro, Antoni Duperreault, and Brennan Porovsky from Go South West Tourism.
