WEYBURN - A number of events are coming up for members of the Weyburn Chamber of Commerce, including a chamber member barbecue, and the annual Ag Appreciation Night.
The Chamber is holding a member appreciation barbecue today, Thursday, Oct. 19 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. downtown outside of the chamber office at 11 Third Street. The barbecue is free for all chamber members.
The next session of Business Unwind will be held at the Weyburn Curling Club on Friday, Oct. 27, starting at 7 p.m.
There are only 48 spots available, as chamber members are invited to come out and play four ends of curling and meet fellow chamber members. The cost is $10 plus taxes, and pizza will be served afterward.
If you don’t have a broom or slider, the Curling Club will have extras they can loan for the evening. Interested residents and businesses are asked to register online at www.weyburnchamber.com.
The annual Ag Appreciation Night is set for Tuesday, Nov. 7, at McKenna Hall, which will include guest speaker Luc Mullinder of the Saskatchewan Roughriders, and presentation of the Golden Sheaf Award. Cocktails are at 5:30 p.m. and supper is at 6:30 p.m., with the program to follow. Tickets are $45 for chamber member, or $60 for non-members.
Ag Appreciation Night is an annual banquet to recognize the importance of agriculture in the local economy, celebrating the hard work and dedication of local producers and ranchers.
Nominations for the Golden Sheaf award will close on Friday, Oct. 20. The award recognizes excellence in agricultural achievement, and eligible producers can be nominated from RMs within the Weyburn region.
This extends from the RM of Francis to the north, the RM of Norton, Laurier and The Gap to the west, the U.S. border to the south and the RM of Tecumseh in the east. Nomination forms can be found on the chamber website online or at the Chamber office at 11 Third Street.
