ESTEVAN - A GoFundMe campaign is underway for an Estevan family that endured a fire at their home on Thursday.
Irina Vlezko launched the fundraiser. She noted her friends, the Makaruk family, will be out of their home for a long time. The basement was burned completely.
There are two parents, Vitaliy and Hanna, a teenager, and younger boys ages six and four.
Everyone, thankfully, is safe, Vlezko said, though the family's cat didn't make it.
“We are asking for help, especially this close to Christmas,” Vlezko wrote.
As of Friday morning, the campaign had raised $800 of its $30,000 goal, with 11 donors.
