Queen City Ex fans can finally get excited, as ticket sales and concert details are now live and ready for the taking for the 2021 event in August.

After skipping last year’s event due to the pandemic, Regina Exhibition Association Limited (REAL) announced that the wildly popular summer event is returning for two weekends this year, on Aug. 20-22 and Aug. 25-29.

Tickets went live on June 21 and with no box office availability this year, all passes have to be purchased online or at participating Sherwood Co-op locations.

Attendees will also have to pick and choose which dates they will be attending the Ex when they buy, with only 5,000 passes available for each day.

All general admission passes grant access to the grandstands as usual, with a selection of VIP concert packages available for those wanting a more up-close-and-personal experience at the show.

The grandstands this year are featuring a recently announced lineup of entirely Canadian performers, including several Saskatchewan-based acts.

The Reklaws will headline the stage for opening night, joined by country artist JoJo Mason. Next, alt-rock band 54-40 and The Watchmen will perform on Aug. 21, with The Halluci Nation — formerly called The Tribe Called Red — closing out the weekend.

The stage will open up again on Aug. 25, featuring a list of musical talent throughout the rest of the week — including singer-songwriter Scott Helman, Shaunovan’s own Hunter Brothers, The Washboard Union, Sam Roberts Band, and Canadian rapper K-OS.

To finish off the weekend, Wide Mouth Mason from Saskatoon and nationally acclaimed indie-rock band The Trews will perform on Aug. 28.

The Pilo O Bones Rodeo will also be returning on Aug. 28, in partnership with the CWA, and the Regina Symphony Orchestra will wrap things up on Aug. 29 with the traditional fireworks show.
