The grand opening for the Weyburn campus of Southeast College will be held on Thursday, Oct. 6, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The college is in their new facilities as a part of the new construction at the Weyburn Comprehensive School, which opened in September as a Grades 7 to 12 junior-senior high school.
The college had been housed in the old Collegiate building until that part of the building was demolished, and the college was temporarily housed in the City Centre Mall until the spring, when they moved over into their new quarters at the Comp.
The formal agenda for the grand opening will be emceed by Jeff Richards, and will begin at 11 a.m.
Some of the guests who will speak include Bronwyn Eyre, the Minister of Advanced Education, Judi Jones, chair of the Southeast College’s board of governors, and Dion McGrath, president and CEO of Southeast College.
There will be a scholarship presentation made, and a ribbon-cutting will follow, with tours of the college’s new facilities, and a barbecue lunch will be provided.
The lunch will feature barbecued hamburgers, a bag of chips and pop or water for a $5 donation, with proceeds to go to the Southeast College Education Foundation.
