The Carlyle Cardinals are now a part of history in the Provincial Hall of Fame as of Saturday August 18. A group of 14 baseball team members from past to present attended the event in Regina for the weekend. The Inauguration event was held in the evening.
βWe had an informal brunch at the Hall first on Saturday morning, then a few hours of down time, after that was the formal evening event,β said Dave Lemieux. βThe ceremony included all of the other people being inducted this year, it was really special to see how much attention and focus went towards each individual being inducted, the board from the Hall of Fame really pays attentions to who is going in, they do a great job and they take it seriously.β
A the four hour event all the Cardinals team members were presented with plaque on stage, each person has one to take home and hang on their wall. βI think we were all excited at first to be in the Hall of Fame, but after the presentation and all the work that went into it, it blew my mind, I really appreciate what they do,β said Lemieux.
After the presentation of awards, the group of Cardinals went out for few drinks together and they reminisced about the team. βAbout when the team was really good,β said Lemieux. βIt was really cool all the guys got together like that after.β
