UPDATE: Most of the travel not recommended advisories have been lifted in southeast Saskatchewan.
Still affected are Highway 8 from Redvers to an area north of Highway 1; Highway 48 from the south junction with Highway 9 to the Manitoba border; and Highway 1 from Whitewood to the Manitoba border.
The highways are reporting poor visibility, icy and slippery sections, and snow drifts, among other issues.
Other highways are reporting that winter conditions exist, and some have poor visibility.
Meanwhile, the snow forced the closure of Wellock Road and Hawkes Bay in Estevan, but those roads are now open again. Johnston Road, which is a gravel road in northeast Estevan, remains closed.
The City of Estevan says the seniors Christmas lunch scheduled for today has been called off. All aquatic and fitness programming is cancelled until 4 p.m. The city will reassess the weather situation at that time and announce the plan for the evening programming.
At this time, the parking lot and roads leading into the Estevan Leisure Centre are difficult to pass through. They are working to get the parking lot and roadways clear and will announce further changes as they come.
The RM of Estevan says if you happen to come across a stranded vehicle, or become stuck yourself, please contact the municipal office at 306-634-2222, so they can advise our operators.
SASKTODAY.ca will have more details as they become available.
