The Rotary Club of Estevan hosted its biggest fundraiser of the year, its annual Lobsterfest, on Friday night at Affinity Place.

Supporters enjoyed a fresh, whole Atlantic lobster, along with steak and more. A silent auction also raised funds during the evening.

Proceeds from the event will be directed towards Rotary’s projects in the community and around the world.

At the start of the evening, local Rotary president Justin Charron presented a cheque for $14,000 to St. Joseph’s Hospital CEO Greg Hoffort. The money will be directed to the hospital’s foundation.

The $14,000 includes the final $8,500 for the club’s commitment to the STARS Air Ambulance helipad at the hospital, and the first $5,500 for the hospital’s purchase of new chairs for the hospital’s emergency waiting room.
