Local gymnasts earn plenty of medals in Saskatoon

Recent results have Estevan Gymnastics Club members excited for the future. On Feb. 10-11, the club members went to the Marian Classic Invitational in Saskatoon where the athletes competed well.

On Feb. 10-11, the club members went to the Marian Classic Invitational in Saskatoon where the athletes competed well. In the junior Olympic level, Kaydence Larsen-Stepp won gold and Lexi Chappel won silver.

In the Junior Olympic 2 level, Bree Moroz and Bergen Kersey each won gold, while Emily Michael, Olivia Von Sprecken, Peyton McIntyre, Julia Durr and McKenna Ruzicka won silver and Morgan Bussian and Danika Lukye won bronze.

In the junior lympics 3 level for athletes born in 2009 or 2010, Haley Murphy won 10th place and Abigail Jones placed 16th.

In the Junior Olympic 3 level for gymnasts born in 2008. Lila Hale placed 14th, Presley Hollingshead was in 15th and Sadie Young was 19th.  Among the junior Olympic 3 kids born in 2007, Presley McLean was in 14th and Cammy Henry was 21st.  In the junior Olympic 3 level for those born in 2005 or 2006, Rylie Scott was seventh and Haley Bonokoski was 19th.

The competition of Junior Olympic 4 of athletes born in 2007 or before saw Abby Krupka in 15th and Chelsea Brady in 23rd.

Zoey Thompson was in 13th for the junior Olympic 6 level, while Kelsey Kowalchuk was in 14th and Tierra Fichter was 22nd in the junior Olympic 6 competition for gymnasts born in 2004 or before.
