Motocross riders, Weyburn track win provincial awards

The Saskatchewan Motocross Association held their year-end banquet in Assiniboia over the weekend and a number of local riders brought home awards.

WEYBURN – The Saskatchewan Motocross Association held their year-end banquet in Assiniboia over the weekend and a number of local riders brought home awards.

The Weyburn Motocross Track won the award for Track of the Year, voted by all of the SMA riders.

Trey Griffin won several awards. As voted by SMA Riders, Trey was awarded (in a tie with a Swift Current rider) the Dedicated and Desire award.

Trey was also awarded Provincial Champion in three separate classes. 

He won first place in Pro/AM, first place in MX2 (250cc) Intermediate and first place in MX3 (Open Class) Intermediate.

Other riders to win hardware included Roman Quigley, first place in 65cc (ages 7-9) category; Emily Quigley won first in Ladies A; Mya Bendickson placed second in Ladies B; Marcus Quigley placed second in MX1 Junior (450cc), second in the MX2 junior (250cc) and second in MX3 junior Open Class.

Connor Bendickson won first in MX1 Intermediate (450cc), second in MX2 intermediate 250cc, and second in MX3 intermediate open class.
