It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected, tragic death of Debra Jane Rushing (nee Dreis) of Halbrite. Debra's life was taken suddenly from us on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at the age of 59.

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected, tragic death of Debra Jane Rushing (nee Dreis) of Halbrite. Debra's life was taken suddenly from us on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at the age of 59. Debra was predeceased by her parents, Gary and Jeannette Dreis; her grandparents, Henri and Edith Latour; Clifford and Phyllis Dreis, her great uncle Roman and great auntie Oliviene Dreis; uncle Mervin Dreis. Debra is survived by her husband, Lewis Rushing; her children: Amanda Dreis and her children: Carson and Sebastien; Faith McMann and her children: Kalli, Isaiah and Aira; Roman Vogel (Heidi) and their children: Mavrik and Summer; youngest daughter, Jada Vogel; her stepchildren: Shana Rushing and her children: Niyah, Tanika and Alyssa; Drew Rushing and his daughter Shontaye; two sisters: Dianna (Ron) Endicott and Dolores Dreis; her brother, Dale (Sharon) Dreis as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Debra was born in Weyburn on June 1st, 1953 to Gary and Jeannette Dreis. She went to school at St. Dominic Savio, St. Michael Junior High, and Weyburn Collegiate. Debra lived most of her life in and around Weyburn. Over the years she had many friends within the community. Two things close to her heart were music and animals. Debra began playing piano in her younger years, which she excelled in. She took pride in her huge record collection. You could always count on Debra for recommending a good album, book, or movie. Debra also enjoyed caring for her garden and numerous flowers. Debra's family was very precious to her. She would spend as much quality time with them as possible. She made phone contact with her siblings, children, and grandchildren on almost a daily basis. Debra was an amazing woman who filled everyone's hearts with joy and laughter. Debra will be truly missed by everyone who was fortunate enough to know her. We love you Debra.May you rest in peace, you will forever live in our hearts. Funeral Mass for Debra was held on Wednesday, April 24 at 10:30 a.m. from St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, Weyburn with Father Gerry Bauche, celebrant. Interment will be held at a later date. Honorary pallbearers were all in attendance. For family and friends so wishing, donations in memory of Debra may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society 114-3rd St. NE, Weyburn, SK S4H 0W2 or the Weyburn Humane Society P.O Box 1062 57-16th St, Weyburn, SK, S4H 2L3.
