Mary "Beth" Lawrence late of Weyburn, passed away November 13, 2013, at the age of 96 years. She was in the loving presence of her family at the Weyburn Special Care home. She was born on September 17, 1917 near Neptune. Beth was predeceased by her parents Edward and Luella Edwards; stepmother Hattie Edwards; her husband Albert Lawrence; brother Mason Edwards; sister Louine (Bob) Fraser; son Robert Lawrence; daughter Sally Peterson. Beth is lovingly remembered by her children: (Robert deceased): daughter-in-law, Helen Lawrence, Todd (Elan), Twila (Duane); Court (Brenda) Lawrence: Denise (Eugene), Janice (Calvin); Edward "Ted" (Judy) Lawrence: Shawn (Roberta), Mike (Amber), Dawn (Ivan); (Sally deceased): Wallace, Candra (Scott), Carrie (Farooq), Stacey (Lonnie); Laura (Harris) Josey: Duncan (Megan) Chisholm, Joseph Chisholm; John Lawrence: Matthew (Lindsey), Stewart, Nikki; Colleen (Brian) Sproat: Ashley (Mike), Greg; 21 great-grandchildren; brother Charlie (Jeannine "2p") Edwards; sister Vivian Cochrane; daughter-in-law Susan Lawrence; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Beth was a hard working farm wife and dedicated mother. She also found time to contribute to the community of South Weyburn. She enjoyed being a member of the St. Andrews Ladies' Aid as well as the South Weyburn Community Association. Beth was an active member of the Rebekah Lodge for over 25 years. Beth had a wide circle of friends that she enjoyed spending time with in Weyburn, as well as Milestone. Before living in the Weyburn Special Care Home, she lived at Bison Manor. Beth had worked at the Special Care Home for 12 years in her younger years. She felt very happy, comfortable and well cared for there. Many family and friends in and around Weyburn will remember her as loving music and dancing. She also enjoyed singing in the church choir. She was an accomplished quilter and made sure each of her children and grandchildren had at least one of her masterpieces. A funeral service for Beth was held on Tuesday, November 19 at 2:00 p.m. from the Grace United Church, Weyburn with Rev. M. Barnabas, officiating. Interment followed at Hillcrest Cemetery Weyburn. Lunch followed at the Upper Grace Hall. Pallbearers were Beth's grandsons: Todd Lawrence, Shawn Lawrence, Michael Lawrence, Matthew Lawrence, Stewart Lawrence and Greg Sproat. Honorary Pallbearers were all of Beth's grandchildren.
