ASSINIBOIA — In a world where we rely on technology and connectivity, Patsy Anderson at Sundance Communications is considered the go-to gal for cellular, high-speed internet, landlines, Max stream TV and all things cellphones and cellphone related.
Anderson is the manager at Sundance Communications, SaskTel dealer for the southland for the past 22 years. She manages a staff of three others, with one staff member currently on maternity leave.
“I have no degree but specialized training specific to SaskTel and government regulations. Most important being privacy regulations,” says Anderson, who took over as manager when the previous manager moved away 20 years ago.
Patsy and her family moved to Assiniboia in 1994 from Kitscoty Alta. Her husband Randy worked for UGG in Congress. The businesswoman says she feels blessed to have worked with her daughter-in-law Cherie for 11 years and her daughter Sara for 10 years.
As a SaskTel dealer, in addition to promoting their products and services, the business activates new cellphone customers, upgrades for existing cellphone customers and provides accessories. Customer support is another key component of the business as everyone at one time or another has experienced a cellphone issue. Anderson is credited for keeping on top of the ever-changing world of cellphones and technology so she is able to provide the most knowledgeable guidance for customers, whether new or returning.
Anderson says Assiniboia has many great features and some of her favourites are the Senior Rebels hockey club which her son plays for, the Fresh Start and Shurniak Art Gallery and the new Sweet Southern Oven Bakery.
Asked if there were any keys to her success serving this role in Assiniboia’s business community, Anderson responds, “My age and wisdom (ha,ha), and the main benefit is knowing our customers and their needs as have served most of our customers since their first cellphone purchase.”
When not at work, Anderson enjoys her home, not talking on the phone, being a grandma and singing at church or in the car.
Some Assiniboia residents affirmed the value of having a business like Sundance Communications, and their staff including Anderson, so that they don’t have to travel out of town for these products and services, with a number of customers lauding the service in reviews on the internet.
