CARLYLE - Tyler Matthewson enjoys his work at Performance Realty.

Matthewson was born and raised in Carlyle. His parents and siblings also remain in the area with some of them running businesses in the town.

Growing up, he played baseball and hockey, suiting up for the senior hockey team, but now plays recreational hockey for the Carlyle Cowboys.

Last September, Matthewson married his wife, Kelsie, and they have an eight-month-old son Harlem.

Matthewson joined the Performance Realty team in Carlyle in July 2020.

One does not just begin to sell properties, and Matthewson needed to acquire four courses through the Sauder School of Business' real estate division at the University of British Columbia.

He really enjoys meeting people and conversing with them, and said that every deal has a different aspect.

It is a fun, challenge to set people up in the home they want to purchase or one that clients wish to move from for another family to enjoy.

It is not only residential that they have on the market, but they are also experienced in commercial property sales.

“I have met many awesome clients through real estate,” said Matthewson.

Currently inventory is a little low, but people are always going to buy and sell their homes, and there is always a flow on the market.

After two years of being in real estate, Matthewson could go for his broker licence.

This required him to take one more course which he completed in October 2023.

Matthewson is now an associate broker at Performance Realty.

This has him doing co-administration duties and setting directions for the brokerage.

“Ray [Performance Realty broker Ray Boutin] makes this a fun workplace to be part of and provides knowledge and support whenever needed,” said Matthewson.

He hopes to help keep it this way wherever and whenever he can.

For any real estate needs, Matthewson said they will gladly help anyone who has questions. Not only will they get the job done, but they will also make the process smooth and easy.
