Ludwig elected to a second term as mayor

Roy Ludwig will have a second term as the mayor of Estevan. According to unofficial results, Ludwig captured 1,809 of the 2,453 votes cast in today's civic election in Estevan.

Roy Ludwig will have a second term as the mayor of Estevan.

According to unofficial results, Ludwig captured 1,809 of the 2,453 votes cast in today's civic election in Estevan. James Halladay received 453 votes to finish second and Rhyan Hagel received 191.

Shelly Veroba received 1,924 votes to finish first in the councillor race. Greg Hoffort (1,749) was second, The other members are Trevor Knibbs (1,694), Travis Frank (1,553), Lyle Yanish (1,540) and Dennis Moore (1,530). Hoffort, Knibbs, and Moore are incumbents; Veroba, Frank and Yanish are new to council. 

Incumbents Kevin Smith (1,380) and Brian Johnson (1,333) were seventh and eighth, respectively, and will not be returning to council.

Cameron Robock was ninth with 314 votes. 

This year marked the first time that the City of Estevan used electronic polling to tabulate the results in a civic election, and it made a big difference, as the final results were known well before 9 p.m. In the 2012 vote, the results weren't known until after midnight.
