Stanley Archie Granberg, late of Estevan, Sask. passed away Saturday, December 5, 2015 at the age of 83 years.
Stan is survived by his wife of 57 years, Valerie Granberg; daughter Cindy Beaulieu (Daniel); son Scott Granberg (Melina); 5 grandchildren, Dylan Beaulieu (Lisa), Tawny Beaulieu (Brett Cluett), Cole Beaulieu (Alicia), Miley Granberg and Addison Granberg; 3 great grandchildren, Lyric Beaulieu, Ari Beaulieu and Remy Cluett; sister Ruby Garrish of New Westminster B.C.; brothers-in-law, Stan Fleck of Chilliwack, B.C. and Ken Barrows of Dunmore Alta., as well as many nieces and nephews. And last, but not least, a very close long- time friend Clinton Burkholder. As they both would say, “Best buds forever”.
He was predeceased by his father Reuben; mother Anna; son Glenn; great grandchild Beau; sisters, June Palmer of Estevan, Sask., Lillian Fleck of Chilliwack, B.C. and Beverly Barrows of Dunmore, Alta.; brothers-in law, Jerry Palmer of Estevan and Don Garrish of New Westminster, B.C., as well as his beloved pets, Nicky and Stu.
Stan was born on May 21, 1932 at Shand, Sask. He attended school in Estevan and was a baker for over 40 years, initially for Symons Bakery in Estevan, a bakery in Radville, Sask., his own bakery in Arcola, Sask. for 9 years and finally at the Estevan Co-op. Stan loved golfing and shopping, mostly for candy, cookies and special treats for his friends and family. Whenever anyone asked Stan how he was, he would always reply “Good! Can’t afford to change!”
Stan will be laid to rest in a private ceremony at the Estevan City Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donating to the St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation, 1176 Nicholson Road, Estevan, SK, S4A 0H3 or the New Estevan Regional Nursing Home, 1201 - 2nd Street, Estevan, SK, S4A 0M1.
Arrangements are entrusted to Hall Funeral Services, Estevan.
