Bike versus semi collision near Benson sends one person to hospital

A semi truck and a motorcycle, both travelling south, collided by Benson Sunday afternoon.

The Estevan RCMP responded to a collision scene by Benson Sunday afternoon.

BENSON, SASK. —  Estevan RCMP members responded to a collision on Highway 47 north of Benson on Sept. 8 just before 4 p.m.

A semi truck and a motorcycle, both travelling south, collided. According to an internet user, whose post was shared by the Just Bins Waste Disposal group on social media, the motorcycle ran into the back of the semi.

One man in his early 50s, who was riding the motorcycle, was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

STARS Air Ambulance out of Regina was dispatched for a scene-call emergency in the Stoughton area around the same time.

Traffic was detoured over to grid roads, while emergency crews were working on scene.

The collision is still under investigation, said the Estevan RCMP.
