ESTEVAN – The Wylie-Mitchell Air Cadets hosted their fourth annual Mother's Day Craft and Trade Show at the Wylie Mitchell Building on April 12, drawing a steady crowd of shoppers and supporters throughout the day.

With a wide array of vendors, the event aimed to provide one-stop shopping for all Mother's Day needs. From handmade crafts to local products, attendees had plenty of options to explore while supporting a good cause.

All proceeds from the event will go toward major renovations of the washrooms at the Wylie Mitchell Building. The current facilities, original to the structure, are slated for full upgrades beginning in May. The project will include new flooring, partitions, countertops, sinks and fresh paint for both the men's and women's washrooms, with completion expected before the Energy City Ex., slated for June 13-15.

This fundraiser, along with another upcoming and other previous efforts, is expected to cover the renovation costs without needing additional financial support.

Upcoming is the return of the popular Wine Survivor. Participants are invited to form teams of five and register by the end of April. Each player must contribute a $20 entry fee and a bottle of wine valued at no less than $20. With only 60 team spots available, a total of 300 tickets are up for grabs.

Between May 2 and 15, daily eliminations will be drawn and posted to Facebook. Players whose names are drawn are out, but teams remain in the running as long as at least one member stays in. The final 20 names will be drawn at a live event on May 16 at the Elks Lodge in Estevan.

If all tickets are sold, the prizes are as follows: first place team takes home 100 bottles of wine, second gets 70 bottles, third receives 55, fourth wins 40 bottles, and fifth place takes home 25 bottles. The first team eliminated will also receive a consolation prize of 10 bottles.

To register, email [email protected] or send a private message to air cadets’ fundraising committee member Linda Beam on Facebook to arrange pick-up of the registration package.
