ESTEVAN — Estevan Fire Rescue crews were busy last week, responding to multiple calls across the city.
On Feb. 25, fire crews first responded to a reported structure fire in the southeast part of Estevan. However, upon arrival, it was determined there was no active fire, and the scene was cleared shortly after.
Later that day, crews responded to another structure fire, this time on the northwest side of the city. Firefighters encountered a working fire at the Royal Heights Trailer park, and all units were on the scene for approximately three hours. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, with no further details available at this time, said Estevan Deputy Fire Chief Kyle Luc. No injuries were reported as occupants were out of the city, the Estevan police said earlier, and the fire was deemed to be not suspicious.
Earlier, on Feb. 24, Estevan Fire Rescue responded to commercial fire alarms on the north side of the city. After meeting with the building manager, crews determined the cause of the alarm, and the scene was handed over to management.
That same day, fire crews responded to a two-vehicle collision in the northeast part of Estevan, where they assisted other agencies before returning to station.
On March 2, EFR responded to a carbon monoxide alarm in the north part of the city. Crews detected CO in the residence, and SaskEnergy was called to the scene. The issue was resolved, and crews returned to service.
