Estevan police conduct traffic initiative, respond to collision

ESTEVAN - The Estevan Police Service handled a variety of different calls from Sept. 26-29. 

Members issued a number of traffic violation tickets on Sept. 26 as a result of a traffic enforcement initiative that focused on speed in northeast Estevan.

A traffic collision was reported in northeast Estevan that resulted in one vehicle being towed as a result of damage sustained. No injuries were reported.

Police responded to an alarm at St. Joseph's Hospital on Sept. 27. When members arrived, the alarm had gone off due to a loss of power, causing several issues within the hospital.

A report came in of an unconscious male lying on the front step of a residence. Members were dispatched and the male was at his own residence and intoxicated. No medical issues were noted.

Police were dispatched to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the Pleasantdale area. Both parties were spoken to and police were able to mediate the situation.

While out on patrol, the EPS warned three people for walking within the construction zone on Fourth Street. No damage was noted, however, the EPS reminds the public to stay out of the fenced area until all of the work is complete.

Police responded to a report of an erratic driver in a residential area on Sept. 28. The youth motorist was located at home and warned of his driving actions.

Officers, along with the Police and Crisis Team, were dispatched to a residence for a suicidal male. Members spoke with the male and offered services.

Police were dispatched to Lynn Prime Park for a report of a truck driving erratically. The truck was located at home and the youth was warned of his driving actions.

A mischief report was filed with the EPS. That matter remains under investigation, with statements pending.

Police received a report of someone shooting BB guns at another vehicle while travelling along King Street on Sept. 29. No damage was noted on the victim vehicle. The driver was located and it was not a BB gun but a water pellet gun. The youth was warned of his actions.

Members responded to Trojan Park for a report of youths possibly damaging property, as the caller stated they were making a lot of noise. Members spoke with the children, who were just playing on the structure. No damage was noted.
