Ex-SE resident, charged with assault, animal cruelty, released from custody

REGINA - A former southeast Saskatchewan resident who is facing several charges from Regina is no longer in custody. 

Mason Wayne Strutt, age 23, was released with conditions after making an appearance by video April 17 in Regina Provincial Court. He is scheduled to be back in court in Regina on May 15. 

Strutt was apprehended and charged by members of the Regina Police Service on April 10 and had been in custody until his most recent appearance. 

He is charged with two counts of wilfully causing harm to an animal, and one count each of assault, sexual assault, uttering death threats, and administering a noxious substance with intent to cause bodily harm.

The charges have not been proven in court.
