Foord takes on the community development officer role in Estevan

The community development officer will work to foster growth by co-ordinating initiatives that improve infrastructure, housing and community services.

ESTEVAN — The Estevan Economic Development board of directors announced Friday the appointment of Rebecca Foord as its new community development officer. The community development officer will work to foster local growth by co-ordinating initiatives that improve infrastructure, housing and community services while also driving economic opportunities, such as industry development, job creation and small business support, the city said in a news release.

Born and raised in the Estevan area, Foord brings a wealth of local knowledge, leadership experience and a deep commitment to the city's growth and prosperity, the city added. As a former city councillor, Foord is no stranger to the challenges and opportunities that shape the community, while her extensive volunteer experience with not-for-profit organizations and community groups has provided her a rounded view on Estevan's wide-spanning socio-economic needs. 

“I am excited to have the privilege and opportunity to contribute to the city's growth and economic development in this new role. I look forward to working alongside our community leaders, businesses and stakeholders to create a long lasting opportunities for Estevan's future," Foord said.
