Hefty traffic fine issued in the southeast.

STOUGHTON - A motorist was issued a hefty fine on July 9 for speeding.

According to a post on the Estevan Police Service's X account, an EPS member of the Combined Traffic Services of Saskatchewan issued a summary offence ticket to a driver travelling at 152 kilometres per hour.

The traffic stop occurred just south of Stoughton. The speed limit in that area is 100 kilometres per hour and the resulting fine was $820.

Typically when a person is found travelling more than 50 km/h above the speed limit, their vehicle is also impounded, but the officer used discretion, and the offender was issued a ticket but their vehicle was not impounded.
