Update: Rail crossings in Midale were blocked due to contact between train and a person

The RCMP says there is no risk to the public identified.

Update:

MIDALE — CPKC Rail said a train made contact with a person early Saturday morning near the intersection of secondary road 606 and Railway Avenue in Midale. This incident is under investigation. The involved train moved from the area early this morning.

No information was provided on the condition of the person involved in the incident at this time.

The Weyburn/Fillmore RCMP is reporting that several streets/railway crossings in the Midale area have been blocked due to what the RCMP says is a collision. The affected areas include crossings at SK-606 and SK-702.

The RCMP issued an advisory early Saturday. 

CPKC Rail confirmed at 8:57 a.m. that there was no derailment in Midale early Saturday morning. The area was cleared at 4:45 a.m. 

There is no risk to the public identified; the RCMP says this notification is to advise motorists that rail crossings in the community will be blocked for an unknown amount of time and detours will need to occur. There will also be an increased police presence in the community in relation to the investigation.
