MACOUN - More than 50 people packed the Macoun Drop-in Centre for the village's Remembrance Day service on Nov. 11.
The guest speaker was Midale's Aaron Toles, who had a couple of tours of duty in Afghanistan with the Canadian Army. He shared how he came home to Canada when a few of friends did not. Toles saw them die in an attack that was very close to their barracks. He paid tribute to them and said how fortunate he was to come home and live his life.
Wreaths were placed at a cenotaph during the service to honour those who served.
