Severe thunderstorm watch for portions of south Saskatchewan

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect on Monday.

UPDATE: The severe thunderstorm watch was lifted early Tuesday in southeast Saskatchewan. A number of warnings were issued in the region during the overnight hours and into Tuesday morning.

SOUTHERN SASKATCHEWAN - Environment Canada issued a severe thunderstorm watch for much of southern Saskatchewan, including the Regina, Moose Jaw, Estevan, Weyburn, Carlyle and Assiniboia areas.

"The strongest storms that develop will pose a risk of large hail and locally damaging wind gusts. The risk of severe thunderstorms will continue through Monday evening," Environment Canada said at the time.
