Six 4-H speakers entertained crowd at Estevan dinner

ESTEVAN - Six 4-H speakers once again delivered one of the highlights at the Estevan Farm Family of the Year banquet.

The young people entertained hundreds of people who attended the event March 28 at the Beefeater Plaza. The speeches were diverse, ranging from humourous to serious, and the topics involved some form of personal experience.

Brooke Tanner from the Crossroads 4-H Multiple Club shared her family's experiences with their one-year-old family dog Tonka. Haylie Petterson with the Benson 4-H Beef Club spoke of the importance of education, not only in the southeast but around the world. Slade Erdman from the Outram-Madigan 4-H Club talked about how sometimes people win by losing and learning from failure.

Sophia Brown from the Browning 4-H Beef Club recapped her experiences at a 4-H light horse achievement day. Rowan Shier of the Steelman 4-H Beef Club provided stories about her brother Braxton and his competitive streak. And Reed Vandenhurk from the Cymri 4-H Beef Club regaled the crowd with tales of his family finding debris from a SpaceX rocket.
