REGINA - Musicians from southeast Saskatchewan are among the finalists for the upcoming SaskMusic Awards.

North Portal-based folk music duo Last Birds, comprised of Lindsay Arnold and her husband Mike Davis, are on the long list for the Album of the Year Award. Thirty-one albums from musicians across the province are included.

Public voting will open for this category on Jan. 22. From there, a combination of public support and results from the SaskMusic jury will be combined to determine the nominees and the winner of the category.

People can visit saskmusicawards.com to vote. One vote per person/IP address will be accepted over the course of the voting period for the top album award.

Last Birds is also among the finalists for the Roots or Folk Artist of the Year Award.

Teagan Littlechief of the White Bear First Nations is also up for a couple of awards: Country Artist of the Year and Contemporary Indigenous Artist of the Year.

Winsome Kind, a husband-and-wife duo comprised of Scott and Leora Perrie that has resided in Alameda, is up for Inspirational or Spiritual Artist of the Year.

The 2025 awards will be handed out March 2 at the Regina Performing Arts Centre.
