Two people arrested in separate assault cases in Estevan

ESTEVAN - A male is facing three assault-related charges in Estevan.

According to the June 29 report from the Estevan Police Service, he was arrested on two charges of assault and one count of assault causing bodily harm. He was released on conditions with a future court date.

Also on June 29, police received a report of a suspicious male going through garbage cans in central Estevan. Members attended and spoke with him. He was warned and sent on his way.

A report came in of a male dumping branches on the parking lot of a local apartment complex. Members located him and he was told to pick up the branches or he could face charges.

Police received a report of a dog biting a person in north Estevan. A statement was obtained from the victim. The matter is under investigation.

A 21-day driving suspension and a seven-day vehicle impound were issued to a 56-year-old Estevan woman after a traffic stop in the east end. No further details were immediately released.

Police received a report of a suspicious male on Dufferin Avenue. Members attended the area and spoke with the man before he was sent on his way.

Officers arrested a 29-year-old Estevan man for public intoxication. He was turned over to family members.

Police were dispatched for a break and enter in progress at a residence in the Hillside area on June 27. Members attended and were advised that the suspects left prior to police arrival. The matter remains under investigation.

Police were dispatched on June 27 to a residence for a report of an assault. A 15-year-old male was arrested and charged, and will appear in court at a later date.

Police received a request for a well-being check, as it was reported that the person had not been seen for quite some time. Members located the female safe and sound and the caller was updated.

Police received a report on June 30 of a motorist stopping and yelling at the driver of another vehicle. Officers will speak to the parties involved.

Officers attended to a local restaurant after receiving a complaint of an injured male. He was assessed by Estevan EMS and family members were contacted to care for him. The EPS says nothing criminal occurred in this case.

Police issued a three-day driving suspension and three-day vehicle impound to a 43-year-old Estevan man, after he tested positive on an oral fluid device for a controlled substance during a traffic stop in the downtown area.

Police received several complaints of noisy parties throughout the night. Owners of the residences involved were warned of the bylaw.
