ASSINIBOIA - Town council gathered for a meeting on July 11. Present at the table were Mayor Sharon Schauenberg; Councilors: Robert Ellert, Kent Fettes, Patrick Grondin, Graham Harvey, Peter Kordus, and Renee Clermont; CAO Clint Mauthe and Kerri Martin.
The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. Public acknowledgements weregiven to Tom Stanley and Assiniboia Times.
The meeting agenda was adopted and accepted as presented. Moved by Grondin/Harvey. The minutes of last meeting of June 27 were accepted and approved as presented. Moved by Ellert/Kordus.
RCMP Report: Detachment commander Corporal Richard Kuhn presented the RCMP Report. Adopted. Moved by Ellert/Fettes.
Correspondence received from: Water Security Agency Works regarding a compliance inspection that reported all aspects passed inspection. A letter from the Prince of Wales renewed the library lease. A thank you letter was received from the Assiniboia Museum, for the support and help with the mini golf project. A letter from the South Central Municipal Association was sent regarding 2023 membership, and that their annual general meeting will take place in Assiniboia on November 23.
Report of CAO Clint Mauthe: The Canada Day festivities on July 1 were very successful. Pavers were in town on July 17, and crack sealing is in progress. There was a water break at the airport that was dealt with on July 11 and 12. Repair work was completed at the cemetery, including straightening of grave stones.
Gee Bee Contruction will be here in September to start line replacements on Centre Street. Ice will go into the rink September 1. Assiniboia is host to a pre-season WHL Hockey Game on September 9, which will feature the Moose Jaw Warriors against the Swift Current Broncos. Tickets on sale now.
Finance report: Tax arrear letters were mailed out July 11. CAO and finance reports accepted as given. Moved by Kordus/Grondin.
Request for Decisions:
Tax Title Properties: a motion passed that allows the TOA to take the next steps within the Tax Enforcement Act on the described lands presented. Moved by Ellert/Fettes.

The Assiniboia Museum is looking for part time volunteer help. Prince of Wales is looking for weekend janitorial help.
The sprinklers in the Centennial Park are working manually but will need a repair to the automation.
Littering is becoming a big problem in the parks.Signs regarding littering bylaws and fines will be put in place
