WEYBURN - The Weyburn Communithon committee would like to invite the public to join them at their upcoming annual general meeting.
The Communithon annual general meeting will be held in the Vimy Room at the Weyburn Legion on Tuesday, May 23, at 7 p.m. A vote to appoint new board of directors will also take place.
“Our AGM is open to all community members. We welcome everyone to come gain a better understanding of what Communithon is and to learn about all of the dedicated and important agencies that we support,” said Korryn Kubashek, Communithon chair. “This is also a good chance to get a feel for our committee and see if it’s the right fit for you, as we are always looking for new volunteers to ensure the success of the event.”
Korryn noted that they need people for every committee, and in particular, the allocations committee requires volunteers who are not part of their community agencies. “We’ve said it before, and we will say it again: community makes Communithon successful!”
This year’s Community Agencies include: Big Brothers Big Sisters Weyburn, Canadian Mental Health Association Weyburn Branch, Community Low Income Centre, CNIB Foundation, Envision Counseling and Support Centre, Inclusion Weyburn, Southeast Advocates for Employment, Spinal Cord Injury Saskatchewan, Weyburn Care-A-Van Society, and the Weyburn Youth Centre.
The 42nd annual Communithon will be held at the Weyburn Legion on Friday, October 27 from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.
