At the Sept. 30 National Day for Truth and Reconciliation event, White Bear resident and Councillor Patty Joyea donated a generous amount to the White Bear Education Complex. This is the second year that Patty has supplied Every Child Matters t-shirts to White Bear First Nation residents and surrounding communities. Joyea has also supplied shirts to residents across Canada. Her father was a survivor of the residential school system many years ago and this day is an important one, bringing awareness to the cause. Accepting the generous donation is White Bear Education student Leslie Lonethunder. Her business is Moose Mountain Apparel.
