REGINA - Loselyn Valdez is basking in a $100,000 windfall after the EXTRA she added to her LOTTO MAX ticket for the June 11 draw matched the last six digits of the winning number, 1830560.
“I’m just so happy it’s not a joke!” exclaimed Valdez as she claimed her prize.
She picked up her winning ticket the day of the draw at Race Trac & STM Car Wash at 210 Winnipeg St. North in Regina, along with a couple of other tickets. She discovered her win a couple of days following the draw when she scanned the ticket a few times using the Lotto Spot! mobile app before heading out to a nearby convenience store to validate the ticket on their terminal, just to be sure.
Valdez says she and her husband already have some plans for their windfall, including some home improvements and paying down some credit card bills. Beyond that, they plan to save the rest of their winnings for a rainy day.
Sask Lotteries is the main fundraiser for more than 12,000 sport, culture and recreation groups in communities across Saskatchewan.
