WAWOTA - The Wawota branch of the Royal Canadian Legion presented their annual awards on Nov. 11.

William Husband was the recipient of the legion scholarship. He is the great-grandson of Freeman Husband. The poppy bursary was given to Brady Taylor of Calgary, who is the great-grandson of Albert Dickson.

Freeman Husband and Albert Dickson were dedicated legion members so it is appropriate that their great grandsons received these awards.

Get well wishes to Myrna Jewell who is the librarian at the Wawota Public library. She had hip surgery recently and is recuperating at home in Langbank.

Brandon Benner, Ashton Wilson and Parker Weatherald enjoyed a weeklong holiday to Las Vegas recently.

Sympathy to the family of Grant Wilson, who passed away on Nov. 21 at the age of 63 years. He is survived by his wife Sherry and his family Todd (Lesley), Sheldon (Christine) and Andrea (Josh) and their families. Grant's funeral service was held at the Wawota Town Hall on Nov. 30.
