Conquest Equipment and Southeast College have come together for a new scholarship.

ESTEVAN - Southeast College has announced a new scholarship partnership with Conquest Equipment.

Conquest has committed to a new scholarship directed towards students enrolled in the heavy equipment truck and transport technician program. The first scholarship will be awarded at the annual graduation and scholarship award ceremony scheduled for June 16 at the Southeast College’s Estevan campus.

The scholarship will emphasize student financial needs with considerations of academic achievement and community involvement. The value of the scholarship is $1,000.

“We are very pleased to partner with Conquest Equipment for the announcement of this new scholarship,” said manager of college advancement Kassandra Lawrenz. “Conquest is not only our next-door neighbour at our campus but also has provided work placement opportunities for our heavy equipment and truck and transport technician students.”

“Giving back to our community is important to us here at Conquest Equipment. Our company has a community initiative, where each month, one of our team members chooses an organization that Conquest will donate to,” said Trinda Jocelyn, marketing co-ordinator for Conquest Equipment.

“When Southeast College was chosen, we thought what a great way to give back to the community and support our industry. We are proud to be able to offer support to new and upcoming heavy-duty technicians.”
