For over twenty years, Carlyle's Dairy Queen has brought Christmas magic and a happier holiday season to local families in need via their “Angel Tree.”
Christmas 2017 marks the fourth year that DQ owners Garth and Donna Mryglod - aided by the efforts and generosity of their staff and customers - have teamed up with Envision Counselling to collect and distribute gifts to area kids in need.
Donna Mryglod says that the “Angel Tree” gifts not only bring joy to local kids, but also allieviate stress for struggling families.
“These gifts help the whole family,” she says. “That single mom or single dad in our area might really be struggling with creating that Christmas magic in their home when they don't have the means.”
“Often, they're faced with really tough choices and if we can help relieve some of that stress, we're happy to do so.”
One Envision counsellor says the Dairy Queen's ongoing Christmas contribution to local families is “So generous. And on behalf of Envision Counselling in Carlyle, I'd like to extend a huge thank you to the Dairy Queen and the entire community for their support of the “Angel Tree” campaign.”
“By doing this, you're helping a lot of local families.”
“I just want to reassure our customers that these gifts are all distributed locally,” adds Donna.
“We're proud to assist Envision in the important work they do for local families who need their support and assistance.”
