The Carlyle branch of the Royal Canadian Legion held their Christmas party last week with a number of guests and members in attendance.
Craig Bird of the Southeast Military Museum in Estevan was the keynote speaker. He talked about recent successes in raising commemorative banners across many southeast communities, including Carlyle. Bird advised that 35 banners have been raised to date in seven different towns and cities.
At this windup, the legion donated two stethoscopes, a vitals machine and several alert alarms to the Moose Mountain Lodge. They also donated a Holt Halter 24/48 heart monitor complete with computer software to the Arcola Family Health Clinic. This heart monitor enables results to be obtained locally.
The Carlyle branch also advised that they will be hosting the legion provincial curling from Jan. 14-16, 2022. There will be masters, regular and mixed divisions.
