If you’re looking for a well-equipped campground that boasts numerous amenities, then look no further than the Carlyle Lions Club Campground, which is conveniently located right within Carlyle.
The campground offers 15 full-service campsites, including free firewood, and two overflow sites that offer electricity.
Numerous renovations have been completed to upgrade the existing amenities within the park in recent years. There are four washrooms for patrons of the park that have recently undergone renovations and have been fully fitted with modern plumbing fixtures.
Work has been done on the ball diamonds to clean for the upcoming season, putting up new fences and painting.
Although it isn't clear whether any ball games will be able to be held at the diamonds, many are still hopeful and keeping up with their skills.
“The ball diamonds, every evening now Monday to Friday, they’re busy with minor ball practices,” says Lions Park chairman Duncan Brown.
In the spirit of renovations and beautification, the Lions Club has purchased a new scoreboard for the diamond, which is to be set up within the next week or two.
With the pandemic coming to a slow end, things are finally picking up in the area and the campground is sure to be a hotspot of activity over the summer. Approximately half of the sites at the park are already booked and the Lions Club hall has bookings for a few weekends this summer.
“We’re pretty proud of our little ballpark out there and our campground and everything,” said Brown.
Walking trails are a gem within Saskatchewan and one of those gems is located at the campground. About two kilometres of walking trails weave through bush and prairie at the grounds, and it is sure to be scenic no matter what time of year it is. The trail is well maintained and pet-friendly as long as owners clean up after their furry friend, which attests to there being something for everyone at the park.
