Weyburn will post a citizens survey online from May 29 to June 16, as the City seeks input from residents and businesses on strategic priorities.

WEYBURN – The City of Weyburn is providing an opportunity for public input on new strategic priorities, as well as preliminary planning of the 2024 municipal budget.

From May 29 to June 16, an online survey will be available through the City’s website intended for residents and business owners in Weyburn.

“This survey is an opportunity for the Weyburn public to share what is important to them in how municipal revenues will be invested and plans for the future of our community,” said city manager Mathew Warren.

In 2022, the City of Weyburn began developing the foundations for a new strategic plan. A new vision and mission were created: the Vision is, “A community for all”; and the Mission: “Growing Through Opportunity”.

Weyburn city council also established the following strategic objectives or areas of focus: Economy; Growth; Community; Governance.

In review of the 2023 budget process, council requested further public input during preliminary planning stages for the 2024 municipal budget.

The survey will gather input from the community on the City’s objectives, to ensure they are on target for the broader community. Input on budget will give valuable feedback on the services, programs and projects that matter to the community.

This information will help Council and administration develop approaches that will guide the actions and directions of the City through its budget and final strategic plan.

A report on input collected will be presented to Council at its regular meeting scheduled for August 14 at 6 p.m. The results will be posted at www.weyburn.ca/engage.
