ESTEVAN - There has been another significant drop in the number of active COVID-19 cases in South East Zone 4, which includes Estevan, according to the daily figures supplied by the Saskatchewan Health Authority on Aug. 17 on the COVID-19 dashboard.
There were 38 active cases in Zone 4, down from 46 on Aug. 16, which means there were eight recoveries in the area. For the second consecutive day, South East Zone 4 didn’t report any new cases.
As for the rest of the South East, there are two new cases in South East Zone 2, which is north of Zone 4.
There are now 76 active cases in the South East region. Two people are in hospital in the South East; both are receiving inpatient care. And another 11 people in the South East have recovered.
A total of 44 COVID-19 tests were processed in the South East on Aug. 16.
And another 55 doses of vaccine have been administered, bringing the total number of doses to 97,718. A total of 46,045 people in the South East are now fully vaccinated.
